Operating System

Windows 11* Family, Windows® 10 family

Description

Encountering error code 1000 when attempting to update graphics drivers using the Intel Driver & Support Assistant (IDSA) on a system with an Intel Core i5-13500 processor and integrated Intel® Arc™ & Iris Xe Graphics. The issue causes a recurring installation loop, where attempts to install the latest driver fail, and the system automatically reverts to driver version 32.0.101.5768.

Resolution

  1. Check the Intel support website for your specific hardware and ensure the driver version you are trying to install is compatible.
  2. Run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller). For a fully clean driver slate, use DDU(in Safe Mode) before performing the manual install. This tool ensures no remnants of previous versions interfere.
  3. Try a manual installation of the most recent driver from the Intel® Download Center. If the IDSA installation fails, you might be able to download the driver package directly from the Intel website and install it manually. You may follow this link on how to manually install your graphics driver to the latest version.
  4. Disable Automatic Driver Updates Temporarily.
