Error in Device Manager When Using an Intel® Arc™ B-Series GPU and an Arc™ A-Series GPU Simultaneously

Environment

Driver 32.0.101.6557 for Intel Arc A-Series GPUs Driver 32.0.101.6262 for Intel Arc B-Series GPUs.

Description

In Windows Device Manager, an error appears for one of the graphics cards when using an Intel Arc B-Series GPU (Battlemage) simultaneously with an Intel Arc A-Series GPU (Alchemist).

The error can be any of the following:

  • Error code 38 (Windows cannot load the device driver for the hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory)
  • Error code 31 (This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device)

Resolution

This can be fixed with drivers 32.0.101.6632 and newer.
