What is Smart Share?

Smart Share is an Intel® Unison™ extension designed for seamless photo transfers between your PC and mobile device. It features drag-and-drop functionality for quick and easy sharing and is available for selected Lenovo* devices.

 

What are the Intel® Unison™ extensions?

Intel® Unison™ extensions allow you to supercharge Unison even further, enriching your multi-device experience. Building upon Unison's strong foundation, these extensions bring tailored, modular enhancements to your preferred activities, improving cross-device experiences and streamlining interactions.

 

How do I activate Smart Share?

Activate Smart Share by tapping your phone on the PC's side, pressing the F11 key, or clicking the Smart Share button in the Intel® Unison™ gallery tab.

 

Can I use Smart Share on non-Lenovo* devices?

Smart Share is tailored for selected Lenovo devices. If you do not see the Smart Share button within the Intel® Unison™ gallery, it indicates that the feature is not supported on your device.

 

How many photos can Smart Share display?

Smart Share provides access to the 45 most recent photos from your mobile device.

 

How do I transfer photos from my phone to my PC using Smart Share?

Transfer photos by dragging and dropping them from the Smart Share extension to the desired location on your PC.

 

How do I transfer photos from my PC to my phone using Smart Share?

To transfer photos from your PC to your phone, drag them from their location on your PC directly into the Smart Share extension window.

 

Can I transfer multiple photos at once with Smart Share?

 Yes, you can transfer up to 45 photos from your PC to your phone at once. For phone-to-PC transfers, drag and drop each photo individually.

 

How should I tap my phone to activate Smart Share?

A light tap on the PC lid is sufficient to activate Smart Share. For added protection or if you're concerned about tapping, you have the option to use a phone cover or simply activate Smart Share with the F11 key.

 

What should I do if the phone tap feature of Smart Share isn't functioning?

First, ensure that the Intel® Unison™ app is up to date on both your PC and phone.

Check that Bluetooth is activated and the devices are paired correctly.

Verify that the phone tap option is enabled within the Smart Share settings.

If you're still experiencing issues, open the Smart Share status indicator by clicking on the Smart Share button in the Intel® Unison™ gallery and follow the troubleshooting steps provided under the phone tap section.

 

Why isn't the tap feature on my phone working when the device is locked?

The phone tap feature works best when the phone is unlocked. If you experience issues, try unlocking your device before using the tap feature.

 

Why isn't the tap feature on my phone working well in noisy environments?

The phone tap feature may not perform optimally in noisy environments due to interference from background sounds. For the best experience, use the tap feature in a quieter setting. If you continue to experience issues, you can always use the F11 key as an alternative.

 

Is the tap feature compatible with all the phone models?

Although we have tested the tap feature on devices from all the major phone manufacturers, we cannot guarantee full compatibility with every phone model available worldwide.

 

Can Smart Share transfer files other than photos?

Smart Share specializes in photo transfers. For other file types, use the file transfer feature in Intel® Unison™.

 

What is the quality of photos transferred with Smart Share?

Transfers from your PC to your phone preserve the original photo quality. When transferring from your phone to your PC, the photos are optimized for quick transfer, which may result in a slight reduction in quality. For the highest quality, use the Intel® Unison™ gallery feature for phone-to-PC transfers.

 

How much does Smart Share cost?

Smart Share is free on selected Lenovo* devices.

 

Does Smart Share work with tablets?

Smart Share is currently for smartphones only.

 

Will Smart Share work if my PC or phone is offline?

An internet connection is necessary for Smart Share to sync photos between devices.

 

Can I customize which photos Smart Share displays?

Smart Share automatically shows the latest 45 photos.
