How to Change the 144Hz Monitor Stuck at 120Hz Refresh Rate

Description

Having issues with the monitor stuck at 120 Hz, which was previously working at a 144 Hz refresh rate.

Resolution

  1. Right-click on the desktop and Select Display Settings
  2. Click on Advanced Display
  3. Select the display you want to modify
  4. Choose the refresh rate in the Choose a refresh rate section

If the monitor is still stuck at 120 Hz, or th144Hz refresh rate option is not available

  • Double check the display cables, as older HDMI cables would not support this bandwidth
  • Cross check the support by the display connected
  • Do a clean graphics driver installation
