Description

Dell* XPS 15 9520 cannot support a 4k screen resolution.

Resolution

  1. Update Your Graphics Driver to the Latest Version
  2. Update Dell Laptop Drivers Using Dell Assistant
    • Open the Dell SupportAssist application on your laptop.
    • Click on the "Check for updates" option.
    • The tool will scan your laptop for outdated drivers and firmware.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to update the identified drivers and firmware.
  3. Perform BIOS Update (latest version)—For instructions on how to perform BIOS updates, refer to your laptop manufacturer.
  4. Perform the Docking Station Reset Procedure
    • Unplug all cables connected to the docking station.
    • Power off the docking station.
    • Hold the reset button on the docking station for about 30 seconds.
    • Plug in the docking station and reconnect all the cables.
    • Power on your docking station.

A docking station or port replicator provides a simplified way of connecting multiple peripherals like a keyboard, mouse, printer, external hard drives, and one or more external monitors to a laptop PC which usually has limited connectivity ports. Most docking stations or port replicators have video ports to connect two or more external monitors and is similar to connecting your computer to your monitor, you just need to have the correct cables.
