What Does "Strip Size" Refer to in Intel® Virtual RAID on CPU (Intel® VROC)?

Content Type: Product Information & Documentation   |   Article ID: 000094686   |   Last Reviewed: 09/25/2024

Description

It is possible to modify the strip size value during the creation of a RAID 0, 5 and 10, but there are no details on the possible impact of this setting or information on what it does.

Resolution

The strip size refers to each logical contiguous data block used in a RAID 0/5/10 volume. This setting is not available for RAID 1 due to its redundant configuration.

The default strip size value is the recommended amount based on the system configuration and the volume type selected; changing the pre-selection is best suited for advanced users who require a specific strip size for their application or configuration.
