Borders or Bars are Visible on Monitors Connected in a Daisy-Chain Configuration Using DisplayPort Multi-Stream Transport (DP MST)

Description

Black bars are visible on the edges of the monitor screen, which appear to be gaps or borders.

Resolution

If you encounter this issue, start by testing other monitors or direct cables to compare if the gap and border are still visible, if yes, try the following troubleshooting steps.

  1. Update the Intel Graphics in the most recent version. See steps here: How to Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows.
  2. When installing the Intel Graphics driver did not fix the issue. Revert to an old driver version or If you're using a laptop, install the Original Equipment Manufacturer Intel Graphics driver.
  3. If the issue persists, try connecting the monitor to another computer to determine if the problem is with the computer or the monitor.
  4. Otherwise, if the laptop is the cause of the issue, ask for assistance from the original equipment manufacturer and If it's a desktop, update the BIOS and test a direct cable connection.
  5. Else, if it's from the monitor. Check and configure the display settings and check if the display can be expanded.
