Code 3 Error in the Device Manager for Bluetooth® or Wireless (Wi-Fi) Devices

Windows® 10, 64-bit*

Troubleshooting steps to try to resolve the Code 3 error in the Device Manager for Bluetooth® or Wireless device.

Error: “The driver for this device might be corrupted, or your system may be running low on memory or other resources. (Code 3)” appears after updating wi-fi or Bluetooth drivers to the latest version.

  1. Update your Wi-Fi driver and software.
  2. Perform a Clean Installation of Wireless Drivers if the issue persists.
  3. If the system is still showing the error, contact the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for additional support or contact Intel Support for additional assistance.

Intel recommends that you test using the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) drivers. If the problem persists after reinstalling these drivers, test the Intel generic drivers for Bluetooth or Wireless adapters. Because the computer manufacturer may provide software or drivers specifically configured for your system. Contact the manufacturer's support for the latest updates and technical support information.
