Description

Unable to play FIFA 22. Game crashes and shows the following error:

"DeviceRemovedReason: DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG ("The GPU will not respond to more commands") DirectX function "dxDevice-> CreateTexture2D(&texDesc2d, desc.subResourceCount!=0? subresData :0, &m_texture2d)" failed with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED ("The video card has been physically removed from the system or a driver upgrade for the video card has occurred. ") GPU: "Intel(R) Iris(R) Xe Graphics", Driver #1 30.0.101.1191 12/03/2021 00:00:00. This error is usually caused by the graphics driver crashing, try installing the latest drivers"

Resolution

The game crash is caused when you have Virtual Memory turned off or set to Auto Manage. It can cause DXGI errors.

In order to solve this issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Press Windows key + "X" Key.
  2. Select System.
  3. On the right side of that window, click Advanced System Settings.
  4. Select Performance.
  5. Select Settings.
  6. Select Advanced tab.
  7. Go to Virtual memory and select the Change option.
  8. Turn off Automatically manage paging file and select drive.
  9. Go to Custom Size and set both Initial and Max to 4096.
