Guidance for Replacing Intel® RAID/Storage Controller of the Same Model/Generation

Need help replacing Intel® RAID/Storage Controller of the same model/generation.

• Back up critical data if possible.
• Check the firmware version of the old and new controller.
  • Download and update the firmware of the new controller (without connecting the drives) to match the firmware version on the old controller.
  • If unable to identify the firmware version on the old controller, update the new controller to the latest firmware version.
• Replace the controller and connect the drives/cable in the same order as before.
• Update to the latest firmware after the RAID volume or Virtual Disks are successfully imported and running.
