Unable to Validate Intel® Optane™ SSD Markings and Confirm if the Product Is Authentic

Description

  • The Intel serial number (ISN) cannot be validated in the Warranty Information Portal, and there are no details about the specific model number. The portal shows the message: The device could not be located.
  • The product seems authentic, but there is no real way to confirm.

Resolution

It is possible to use the available Intel® SSD tools to validate the product:

  1. Install the drive in a compatible system.
  2. Download and install the Intel Memory and Storage Tool.
  3. Confirm the drive is detected as an Intel SSD.
  4. Confirm that both, the Serial Number and Model, match the information printed on the SSD label.
