Correctable or Uncorrectable Error Correcting Code (ECC) Events for Memory Modules with Intel® Server Boards

Description

The error below occurred on an Intel® Server Board:

EventID:0270  Time:Sun Nov 14 20:57:18 2021  Controller:SMI Handler  SensorType: Memory  SensorName:ADDDC Error  Description: CPU: 2, DIMM: A1 DIMM Rank: 2. - Correctable ECC / other correctable memory error - Asserted
EventID:0271  Time:Sun Nov 14 20:57:18 2021  Controller:SMI Handler  SensorType:Memory  SensorName:Mmry ECC Sensor  Description: CPU: 2, DIMM: A1 DIMM Rank: 2. - Correctable ECC / other correctable memory error - Asserted

Resolution

  1. Reinstall the affected memory installed and check if the error will still occur.
  2. If the error still occurs, swap the memory with other installed memory and check if the error will stay on the Intel® Server Board or follow the same memory.
  3. Provide System Information (SysInfo) logs, and then submit to Intel Customer Support for further investigation.
