Support for Game Sharpening and Anisotropic Filtering on Intel Integrated Graphics with Common APIs

Environment

Windows® 10, 64-bit*

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Summary

Information about support for game sharpening and anisotropic filtering with DirectX9*, OpenGL*, or Vulkan* games.

Description

The game sharpening feature is not working with application programming interfaces (APIs), such as OpenGL*, DirectX9*, or Vulkan* games/engine path.
Anisotropic filtering is not working on D3D9 games. For instance, forcing it in Halo 2* through Intel® Graphics Command Center simply is not working, no anisotropic filtering is applied. The same happens for the game sharpening feature.

However, In DirectX* 11/12 (D3D11/12) applications the game sharpening feature is working perfectly.

Resolution

In the current Intel® Graphics Command Center and future releases, the support for DX9 games is limited and handled in compatibility mode. Thus, it is expected that some options may not work as expected.

This feedback has been sent to the Intel® Graphics Command Center team for consideration.
