How to Get External Monitors to Display at 2560x1080 Resolution on a Dell* Dock D3100?

Description
  • Using a second LG ultrawide display monitor and it will not give me the option to select the 2560x1080 resolution on both monitors.
  • Using 2 monitors on HDMI connection via a Dell Docking Station D3100
Resolution

Things to consider:

  • The Dell D3100 has 3 video output ports, 2 HDMI and 1 DisplayPort. The max resolution will be depending on which ports will be used. Refer to the multiple-display matrix by Dell for the D3100.
  • According to the multiple-display matrix, using 2 HDMI will limit the max resolution to 2048 x 1152 for both monitors.

The only option to get 2560 x 1440 resolution is to connect one monitor via HDMI and the other via DisplayPort.
