Steps to improve boot time by disabling network boot option
Intel® NUC is slow when booting. It takes between 30 seconds and a minute each time until the windows start screen comes up.
- Enter the BIOS by pressing F2 during POST
- Select Advanced
- Select Boot
- Go to Boot Configuration
- Find Network Boot
- Select Disable.
- Press F10 to save and exit.
Network booting (shortened as netboot) is the process of booting a computer from a network rather than a local drive. With netboot enabled, the NUC will look for a network connection and remote boot source during startup. The NUC will then wait for that to timeout before resuming normal boot.
