Content Type: Troubleshooting   |   Article ID: 000087697   |   Last Reviewed: 10/13/2021

Description

Intel® NUC is slow when booting. It takes between 30 seconds and a minute each time until the windows start screen comes up.

Resolution

  1. Enter the BIOS by pressing F2 during POST
  2. Select Advanced
  3. Select Boot
  4. Go to Boot Configuration
  5. Find Network Boot
  6. Select Disable
  7. Press F10 to save and exit.

Additional information

Network booting (shortened as netboot) is the process of booting a computer from a network rather than a local drive.  With netboot enabled, the NUC will look for a network connection and remote boot source during startup.  The NUC will then wait for that to timeout before resuming normal boot.
