How to Transfer a Windows* License to a Different Computer

Describes the process necessary to move an existing Windows* license to a new computer.

Description

You may need to transfer your previous Windows license to the new system after receiving a warranty replacement.

Resolution

Follow the steps listed in How to transfer a Windows 10* license to a new PC.

NoteWindows* OEM licenses cannot be transferred to another system. The Intel® NUC Mini-PCs uses an OEM license, so it can't be transferred. However, the license is attached to the system, so if an RMA is necessary, the new unit will have the Windows license.
