Resolution
Before you continue reading
The Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (Intel® CAS) product has reached end of life. See more details in End-of-Life (EOL) Announcement for Intel® Cache Acceleration Software (Intel® CAS).

This error message is related to the amount of system memory and the size of the cache used (drive partition size). Intel® CAS will use a small portion of system memory (2% of caching capacity) in order to store metadata. That means that the amount of memory has to be proportional to the size of the cache space.

For example, if you are trying to set up the cache with a partition of 800GB, you have to reserve an amount of memory equal to the 2% of the partition size. In this example, 16GB of system memory is required to start cache.

Suggestions for addressing this issue:

  • Increase the amount of system memory - Random Access Memory (RAM).
  • Reduce the partition size to meet the system memory capacity in the current system.
