Step 1: Download and save the driver

  1. Download and save the winXX_15.40.46.5144.zip file package from the Download Center.
  2. If the file driver was contained in a zip file, unzip the file to a designated location or folder.
  3. Make sure you are downloading the proper version based on your Operating System. (For instance, for Windows® 10 64bit should download win64_15.40.46.5144.zip file).
  4. If while unzipping the file you get an error message (Error 0x80004005: Unspecified error - igd11dxva32.dll), click Skip and the unzipped file will be completed.

  4. Right-click on the Intel Graphics entry and click Uninstall.
  5. In the device removal dialog box, check Delete the driver software for this device and click OK.
  6. Restart the computer after the uninstallation is complete.
  7. Open Device Manager once more.
  8. Expand the Display Adapter section again.
    • If the graphics entry still displays Intel Graphics, repeat steps 8-11.
    • If the graphics entry displays Microsoft Basic Display Adapter, run the previously downloaded .exe file to install the driver.
  9. Reboot the computer when prompted.

Step 3: Manual Driver installation

  1. Right-click the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.
  2. Select Update driver.
  3. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
  4. Click on Browse and look for the unzipped folder downloaded for zip.file in step 1.
  5. Click on Select and click Next, then Windows® should install the driver. This might take a while to complete the installation.
NoteIf using Intel® Driver and Support Assistance after the installation is done, click on Refresh results to check if the installation was successfully completed.
