Summary

This article is about how to test the system with one and four memory modules using the Intel® Server Board S2600WFT to verify if the error IERR on P1 and P2 can be isolated in one processor

Description

Updating the firmware of an Intel® Server System. The system has the factory firmware and shows an alert requesting for an update.

Resolution

Please try the following suggestion to verify if the issue only happens with one specific processor and/or with one or the four memory modules used in that processor.

  1.  Install one processor in CPU 1 socket (located away of the power supply) only, then, install one memory module in DIMM A1 of that processor socket, test the system.
  2. Install the remaining memory modules in DIMMs A1, B1, D1 and E1 of that processor socket, test the system.
  3. Swap the processor, repeat step 1 and 2.
