Describes the power state capabilities of the USB-C/Thunderbolt* ports of the Intel® NUC.
Can the USB-C/Thunderbolt* devices be turned off when the unit is on low power mode or powered off?
This is expected behavior. USB-C/Thunderbolt* power will be provided by the port even if the unit is powered off or in sleep mode. A feature in BIOS can be used to disable Portable Device Charging Mode, but it will cause the unit to either provide extra power during S4/S5 sleep states or not.
To modify the "Portable Device Charging Mode" follow this steps:
- Access the BIOS during the POST screen press repeatedly the F2 key.
- Click on "Advance".
- Click on "Devices".
- Click on "USB".
- Locate the "Portable Device Charging Mode".
- Set value to enable/disable this option.
