Can't Complete Windows* Update Due to Lack of Drive Space
What are you seeing?
There is not enough space on the pre-installed drive on the Intel® NUC Kit NUC5PGYH or NUC6CAYS to successfully perform a Windows® 10 Update.
How to fix it
Free up space on the drive with the following steps:
Delete files in the Windows Temp directory
- Press the Windows key + r to open the Run prompt
- Type %temp% then select OK to open the Temp folder in File Manager
- From the Home tab on the Toolbar, click on Select All (to select all the files)
- Press the Delete key to delete the files. (you can choose to press Shift and the Delete button to permanently delete the files.)
- If you see a pop-up window saying the action can't be completed because the file is open, click Skip
Perform a disk cleanup
- Press the Windows key +r to open the Run prompt
- Type Explorer select OK
- In the Quick Access panel on the left, right-click on the C: drive and select Properties
- Select Disk Cleanup
- Click Cleanup System Files
- Click Yes to confirm you want to cleanup the disk. It takes a few moments for Disk Cleanup to identify items that can be safely deleted
- In the Files To Delete list, select the items to be deleted
- Click OK
