Description

The processor is stuck at a certain frequency and is not able to reach its full capacity.

Resolution

In self-built systems with Intel® Boxed Processors, you may try the following troubleshooting tips.

  1. Make sure your BIOS is up to date.
  2. Make sure to choose a thermal solution that is equal to or higher than the Processor Base Power or Thermal Design Power (TDP) based on your needs or requirements. Refer to How to Choose Thermal Solutions for Intel® Core™ Boxed Desktop Processor.
  3. Manage your power mode to optimize device power use and performance. Select Start > Settings > System > Power & battery > Power mode.
  4. Refer back to your motherboard manufacturer for this issue.
