Troubleshooting USB Boot Issues for Windows Server 2016 Installation After UEFI RAID Creation

Environment

Intel® RAID Module RMSP3CD080F Others: * Bootable RAID 1 volume successfully created from within the UEFI. * The USB stick is recognized in the board BIOS, under the USB configuration menu.

Description

The system does not boot from the Windows Server 2016 installation USB drive.

Resolution

Ensure the USB drive is formatted in New Technology File System (NTFS) and Globally Unique Identifier (GUID) Partition Table (GPT) partition for Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI). Note

Make sure the USB thumb drive has the Redundant Array of Independent Disks (Intel® RAID) card driver.
How do I enable UEFI Boot Mode to thus install an OS?
Do not try to use BIOS Legacy mode because the Intel® RAID Module RMSP3CD080F does not support it. This is indicated on page 14 of the Hardware User Guide.
