Intel® Deployment Assistant Firmware Update Fails for Intel® Server Board S2600GL/GZ Product Families
If the Intel® Deployment Assistant hangs or otherwise fails to update the firmware, follow these steps:
- Enter the BIOS.
- Go to Advanced > PCI Configuration > Maximize Memory.
- Set to below 4 GB > [Enabled].
If the update hangs on one particular component, check the Quick Start User Guide or Technical Product Specification for the location of a Force Update jumper for that component. Examples: BIOS, Baseboard Mgmt Controller (BMC), FRU/SDR, or ME.
If you are using an add-in RAID card:
- Enter the BIOS.
- Go to Advanced > Mass Storage Controller Configuration > AHCI Capable SATA Controller.
- Set to [Disabled].
- Go to Advanced > Mass Storage Controller Configuration > SAS Controller.
- Set to [Disabled].
- Update the firmware through Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI).
