Note | For videos on how to identify your Ethernet device or driver version, or how to update your driver |
Opening the adapter properties
This procedure can't identify the adapter if there's no driver installed. If you need the latest driver, choose your Windows version from the Drivers and Software list. These downloads cover most Intel® Ethernet Adapters and install the latest drivers when you run them.
The network adapter property sheet in Windows® 10 provides information about the network adapter and driver on the computer. Follow these steps to open the adapter properties:
-
Right-click the Start button.
-
Click Device Manager from the list.
-
Click the pointer symbol in front of Network Adapters to expand the section.
Finding the driver version
-
Right-click the network adapter.
In the example above, we are selecting the "Intel(R) Ethernet Connection I219-LM". You may have a different adapter. -
Click Properties.
-
Click the Driver tab to see the driver version.
