The production node was also improved to 10 nanometers, so the already good energy efficiency of the Intel Atom® series of processors was optimized even more. The CAF-0101 can be equipped with up to 16 GB of DDR4 SO-DIMM main memory with IBECC, uses fast eMMC storage and one SATA port for additional mass storage or SATA DOM. The system also offers optional support for Wi-Fi connectivity via mPCIe module. For wired networking, the CAF-0101 provides four Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 ports plus one RJ45 system console port. Trusted Platform Module is supported with an onboard TPM header. The new processors of the CAF-0101 support the Intel® OpenVINO™ toolkit, with pre-optimized libraries for artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and computer vision acceleration. The new Intel® Edge Software Hub is also supported, so customers can acquire pre-optimized, deployment-ready software packages optimized for Industrial, Retail and Vision, all of which additionally offer customizability. It uses the manufacturer's own designed network configuration with up to eight PCI Express connected, proprietary (NIN) modules that each provides a maximum of eight high-speed Ethernet ports for 64 network connections overall. Storage modules with either one 3.5" or two 2.5" hard drives or SSDs are also available. Each network or storage module is connected to the processors by PCIe 4.0 x8 interface introduced with the Intel® Xeon® SP Gen. 3 to provide extremely high bandwidth. Besides the modules there's also one PCI Express 4.0 x16 expansion slot that can be used for FPGA or GPU accelerators to support emerging machine learning and deep learning workloads with uncompromised bandwidth and lowest latency. According to Intel®, this series of Intel Atom® processors offers 70 percent more performance in single-threaded and 50 percent more speed in multi-threaded workloads than the previous generation, the widely used Intel Atom® x5- and x7-3900 series like inside the fanless network appliance CAW-0111. The production node was also improved to 10 nanometer so the already good energy efficiency of the Intel Atom® series of processors gets even better. This server system offers multiple configuration options for professional security applications like firewalls and unified threat management (UTM) to effectively protect company networks. The CAR-2090 is based on Intel®'s 10th core generation ("Comet Lake") and can be equipped with Xeon W-1200E or Core i3- to i9-10000 and even Pentium or Celeron processor models that provide up to 10 cores and 20 parallel threads while staying at or under 95 watts thermal design power. This server system offers two DIMM slots for up to 64GB DDR4-2933 main memory and ECC depending on CPU model and PCH. This ensures the solution can handle demanding and advanced network tasks while staying cool and energy-efficient. Depending on PCH choice by customer the CASwell CAR-2090 offers six or eight Gbit-Ethernet ports supporting two pairs of Network Bypass 4.0. This can be expanded to 20 GbE ports with an optional CASwell NIP or NIN module with up to eight network ports and one internal daughter board for four more Ethernet ports (RJ45 or SFP) when the Intel® W480E PCH is used. Both CASwell network module and daughter board are connected to the main system by high-speed PCI Express 3.0. The MEC-6300 is based on the Intel Atom Processor C3558R (Denverton-NS Refresh) with four cores running up to 2.4 GHz at only 17 watt thermal design power (TDP). Compared to the previous generation, the Atom 3558 , the 3558R reaches higher frequencies while keeping almost the same TDP, supports faster memory like DDR4-2400 instead of DDR4-2133 and provides 20 instead of 12 PCI Express 3.0 lanes for enhanced connectivity and bandwidth. Important for many industries is the support of Intel Quick Assist Technology (QAT) by the Intel Atom C3000 series because collecting data at the network edge and sending to the cloud requires encryption to keep the information protected from unauthorized access when operated outside corporate firewalls. Devices supporting QAT like the CASwell MEC-6300 can process encryption and decryption more than ten times faster than without QAT. For connectivity the MEC-6300 offers a variety of different networking options: Six Ethernet ports with up to 10 Gigabit, WiFi (5 GHz and 2.4 GHz) and cellular (mobile) networking with LTE and 5G. Wireless connectivity is supported by four outside antennas for 5G (sub6) and 18 inside antennas for LTE and WiFi. Internally the MEC-6300 offers one M.2 slot for expansion for 5G, LTE, SATA, storage, WiFi, DSL, Bluetooth and ZigBee but also for AI.
