5.4.2. Processor (CPU) Inspection
In a Intel® Simics® simulation, the CPU (either as part of HPS or as a soft processor) is the main component that drives the simulation flow by executing instructions. In some cases, the CPU instructions are translated into transactions that are sent to other components in the Intel® Simics® model. These transactions exercise the modeled functionality of these other components.
Based on this, it is important to observe what is occurring inside of the CPU. This section describes some of the features supported by Intel® Simics® simulator to inspect aspects of the CPU during a simulation.
