Johannes is a research scientist investigating efficient methods for real-time rendering. Before joining the Graphics Research team at Intel in 2022, he worked on the Intel® oneAPI Rendering Toolkit, and contributed to the Intel® Open Volume Kernel Library and Intel® Embree. His background is in visual effects, and he worked as a rendering researcher for Weta Digital*. Johannes has a PhD in computer science from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology.
