Husnain is a PhD candidate in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). He is also a part of the PASSAT group at Coordinated Science Laboratories (CSL - UIUC), where he is advised by Professor Rakesh Kumar. He received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan.

Husnain's research focuses on designing hardware for energy-efficient and high-performance graphics. He is also interested in designing domain-specific hardware for neural graphics and machine learning. Husnain has also published peer-reviewed papers in the areas of emerging computing domains such as printed, flexible, and wearable computing.
