Add Workload Template
Step 1: Go to Deploy > Deploy Edge Nodes
Click on
Deploy
in the top menu and select
Deploy Edge Nodes
.

In the
Deploy Edge Nodes
screen, you will see 3 tab sections:
Workload Templates
,
Ongoing Deployment
, and
Completed Deployment
.
Workload Templates:
contains a shortcut to add a new workload deployment template. If workload templates are already configured, then you will see the list of workload templates to deploy on edge nodes, along with the shortcut to add a new template.

Ongoing Deployment:
lists the deployment ongoing edge nodes with details like IP address, deployment status, deployment started time, and track deployment. If there are no edge nodes in ongoing deployment, this tab will display an empty screen with message as shown.

Completed Deployment:
lists the deployment completed edge nodes with details like IP address, deployment status, deployment completed time, and deployment summary. If there are no edge nodes in completed deployment, this tab will display an empty screen with message as shown.

Step 2: Add Workload Template
- Click on theAdd Deployment Workload Templatebutton in theWorkload Templatestab.
- Name the workload template. Don't use special characters.
- Click onNext.You will see a list of Edge Software packages available on the host machine. Select any from the list that will be added to your workload template.
- Click on the package name to see the list of the modules that will be installed as part of the package.
- Click onCloseto exit from the pop-up.
- Choose an Edge Software Package from the list as shown. On clickingClear Selection, you can clear the selected package.If no software packages are currently available, click onNextto continue.
- Click onNext.You will see a list of containers and container stacks running on the host machine. Select any from the list that will be added to your workload template. You can select multiple containers and container stacks from the list.
- Click on the respective container/stack name to see its overview and configurations.
- Click onCloseto exit from the pop-up.
- Choose containers and container stacks from the list as shown.If no containers and container stacks are currently available, click onNextto continue.
- Click onNext.You will see a list of virtual machines templates running on the host machine. Select any from the list that will be added to your workload template.
- Click onView Detailsof the respective virtual machine template to see its details.
- Click onCloseto exit from the pop-up.
- Choose virtual machines templates from the list as shown.If there are no virtual machine templates currently available, click onNextto continue.
- Click onNext.In this screen, you can review details for the workload template getting added and go back to make changes if needed.
- Click onAdd.If you try to add a workload template without selecting any packages, containers/container stacks or virtual machines, then you will get a warning saying you cannot create an empty template. Either you need to go back and add components or quit the creation process.You will get a pop-up message with addition of workload template with status either Success or Failure.
