Reliability Issues
Overclocked processors can produce unpredictable results or system instabilities, which might not be readily apparent. The
life of the processor may also be shortened. The expected frequency is the frequency at which Intel
warrants the reliable performance of the processor. If you have not intentionally changed the system bus frequency or
ratio, Intel suggests you contact your PC system manufacturer or reseller to resolve the problem. If you bought an Intel
processor that appears to be overclocked and installed it yourself, you should contact the processor place of purchase.
Accurate Detection
Although Intel made every effort to create a utility that would be 100% accurate, there may be cases where the utility could
fail to recognize an overclocked condition. If this occurs, please call Intel Customer Support.
Returning Overclocked Processors
If you believe your processor is overclocked, you must return it to the place where you purchased your system. If they are no
longer in business, or will not help you, Intel recommends that you contact the PC system manufacturer.
Our experience is that the vast majority of PC system manufacturers respond positively to consumer issues and stand behind
their products and brand promise. We are happy to talk to a user who is experiencing difficulty in getting a response from
their supplier. However, please understand that Intel is not the vendor of the assembled PC system product, and cannot
warrant or guarantee anyone else's work or products. Intel provides comprehensive technical support and documentation for
proper use and installation of Intel processors by PC manufacturers, integrators and professional PC service companies.
If you believe that the PC system sold to you has been misrepresented or you have been otherwise defrauded, you may wish to
consider contacting local law enforcement for redress.
