How to Upgrade Firmware on S2600 and S2400 Series Server Boards

To upgrade the firmware

  1. Download the latest firmware for Extensible Firmware Interface (EFI) from support site.
  2. Unzip the package and copy all files to a folder on a USB device.
  3. Insert USB device to server/workstation USB port.
  4. Boot Server to EFI shell.
  5. Run command map -r in EFI shell to map USB device.
  6. Run command fs0: to change folder to USB device.                                                                  USB device can also map to fs1:. The number of the fs# is dependent on the result of command map -r.
  7. Change folder to the folder storing the firmware package.
  8. Run command startup.nsh to start updating all the firmware and BIOS.

To verify that the upgrade finished 

  1. During POST, press F2 when prompted to access the BIOS Setup Utility.
  2. Press F9 to load BIOS Defaults.
  3. At the Main menu verify the BIOS revision.
  4. Click Server Management > System Information and press Enter
  5. Verify the BMC firmware revision.
  6. Verify the SDR revision.
  7. Verify the ME firmware revision.
  8. Press F10 to save exit.
