Why does my on-board RAID not detect connected SAS disk drives?

Some Intel® Server Boards with the Intel® C200 Chipset and Intel® C600 Chipset require Intel® RAID C600 Upgrade Keys to enable SAS mode. An Intel RAID C600 Upgrade Key is also required to enable RAID 5.

See the RAID Quick Reference Guide for specific information about Intel C600 Upgrade Keys and configuration information for Intel® RSTe, Intel® ESRT2, and Intel® Integrated Modules.
