During the initial setup of Microsoft Windows Server 2008* at the page "Where do you want to install Windows?" I can see all the available disks (i.e. the RAID volumes created in RAID BIOS Console) but there is an error saying: "This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computer's BIOS menu."
The installation of the operating system cannot be completed even if I create a new partition and click Next.
This is the normal expected behavior and occurs when the RAID BIOS is disabled in the properties of the controller.
You can see if the RAID BIOS is disabled during POST when the RAID is initialized.
To resolve this problem proceed as follows:
Enter the RAID BIOS Console [CTRL+G] and select Controller Properties.
Click Next and on the Properties page and identify the Controller BIOS setting.
Change the Controller BIOS setting from Disabled to Enabled.
Click Submit to save the changes. Exit RAID BIOS console and proceed with the installation of Windows operating system.
