MR. SHRI N. RAVI SHANKER
Shri N. Ravi Shanker is a member of the Indian Administrative Service with over 32 years of experience in Public Administration & Public Policy. At present he is Administrator, Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF) w.e.f. 5.12.2011 in the Department of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications & I.T., Government of India.
He is responsible for formulating and overseeing execution of schemes aimed at filling the gaps in rural areas on issues related to telecom infrastructure. He is also vested with the additional responsibility of being the CMD of an SPV (special purpose vehicle)—Bharat Broadband Network Limited (BBNL)—to establish the National Optical Fibre Network (NOFN) across 250,000 villages in the country. The budget outlay for this project is Rs.20,000 crores (USD 4 billion).
Earlier, he was in the Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communications & I.T., Government of India in the following capacities:
- Joint Secretary: Sept. 6, 2007 to May 4, 2011
- Additional Secretary: May 5, 2011 to Dec. 4, 2011
He was responsible for policy formulation and coordination of all activities in the area of e-Learning, e-Infrastructure, technology development in Indian languages, HRD, and Internet governance. He was the country representative on the Multistakeholder Advisory Group (MAG) of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (UN-IGF) and also the country representative on the Government Advisory Committee (GAC) of Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN). He also held the responsibility of being the Chief Executive Officer of National Internet Exchange of India (NIXI) from Sept. 6, 2007 – Mar. 21, 2011.
MR. RALPH COREY
Ralph Corey is a 28-year Intel veteran, holding a number of strategic sales, vertical marketing, and technical management roles at Intel. In his current role he manages the Intel World Ahead Program emerging market telco strategy working specifically with telco service providers, government regulators, and ecosystems to help increase broadband penetration and drive economic growth through ITC and devices.
He previously ran Intel‘s IPTV Program office, which developed the strategy and world-wide geography sales strategies and ecosystem engagements. One of his main focuses was ecosystem alignment for service delivery, OSS and BSS systems on Intel®-based standard servers to help service providers reduce the opex/capex and develop new revenue paths. Ralph holds BS/EE/CS and has designed computer systems for the graphic arts industry prior to working at Intel Corporation.
MS. DEBJANI GHOSH
Managing Director – Sales and Marketing Group
Intel South Asia
Debjani Ghosh is the Managing Director – Sales and Marketing Group, Intel South Asia. She is in charge of the sales and marketing operations for Intel® products and technologies for all the South Asian countries (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and Afghanistan).
As Managing Director, Debjani is responsible for leading the Intel’s Sales and Marketing organization in South Asia to deliver world-class sales and marketing initiatives aimed at increasing awareness and demand for Intel products and technologies in the region.
Debjani also focuses keenly on driving strategic partnerships with the government and ecosystem players to accelerate the growth of technology adoption in the region.
Prior to this, Debjani was the Director for Southeast Asia and was responsible for growing Intel’s business in the region comprising countries like Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Brunei.
Debjani first joined Intel in January 1996, where she was responsible for setting up Intel’s consumer marketing program in India. In 1999, she was responsible for setting up and managing Intel’s education program across 11 countries in Asia Pacific. She moved to Malaysia in 2005 as the Marketing Manager for SEA and went on to become the Country Manager of Sales and Marketing for Malaysia in 2006 before assuming her role as SEA Director in 2007.
Debjani holds an MBA in Marketing from S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai.
In 2012 Debjani was ranked amongst the 25 Most Powerful Women in Indian Business by Business Today and was also ranked by Fortune India to be one of the top 50 most powerful women in business in India. Debjani currently chairs the IT Committee at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).
MR. FREDERICO CARVALHO
EMEA Solutions Director,
Frederico has been with Intel for over 13 years. He started his career by establishing Intel’s reseller channel in Portugal and continued by developing Intel’s business into the government and corporate areas becoming the company’s Country Manager for Portugal. In 2005 Frederico moved to Spain as the manager of the team responsible for Intel’s enterprise business representing over 3 million personal computers and server business.
MR. IHSAN DURDU
Ihsan Durdu was born in Turkey in 1957. After his high school education, he moved to the United States for his University education and graduated from University of Wisconsin – Madison with double majors in Industrial Engineering and Economics. He did graduate work on both fields at the same school. He worked in the United States and Turkey in several fields such as banking, export management, IT marketing consultancy, and joint venture development projects consultancy as well as advising in marketing, logistics, distribution channel developments, and international business developments.
His employers included many top private companies, international and local agencies. He has been working in the telecommunication field more than 10 years as a consultant. His initial consultancy work was on standardization and technical specifications including approvals. He then worked for several top international type approval labs.
He worked from 2001 until 2005 at Turk Telekom as an advisor to the CEO. Since that year, he has been working as Advisor to Minister of Transportation and Communications in the field of ICT. Among his main responsibilities includes Strategy Development for policy making in ICT related issues at the Ministry.
