Why does the Synopsys VCS* MX simulator fail when simulating the 10/100/1000 Multiport Ethernet MAC Design Example with 1000BASE-X/SGMII PCS and Embedded PMA Variant of the Triple-Speed Ethernet Agilex™ 7 FPGA IP?

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.3.1, the Synopsys VCS* MX simulator fails when simulating the 10/100/1000 Multiport Ethernet MAC Design Example with 1000BASE-X/SGMII PCS and Embedded PMA Variant of the Triple-Speed Ethernet Agilex™ 7 FPGA IP.

To work around this problem in the Quartus Prime Pro Edition Software version 24.3.1, perform the following steps:

• Goto the directory <design_example_dir>/example_testbench/
• Open the simulator script file run_vcsmx_mac_pcs.sh in a suitable text editor.
• Remove the following line[Line 40] in the simulator script.
  • "$QUARTUS_INSTALL_DIR/eda/sim_lib/synopsys/ctf_hssi_atoms_ncrypt.sv"
• Save the file.
• Run the Synopsys VCS* MX simulator using the modified script files

This problem will be fixed in a future release of the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
