Why does the grub modification not update when following R-Tile Intel® FPGA IP for Compute Express Link* (CXL*) Design Example User Guide?

Description

Due to a problem in the Linux kernel, you might observe grub update failure when following the section "Enabling CXL Device Memory" in R-Tile Intel® FPGA IP for Compute Express Link* (CXL*) Design Example User Guide.

Resolution

To work around this problem, add GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="rd.lvm.lv=centos/root rd.lvm.lv=centos/swap rhgb default_hugepagesz=1G hugepagesz=1G efi=nosoftreserve memmap=60G! 0x880000000 quiet" into /boot/efi/EFI/centos/grubenv file manually.
