Why does the voltage sensor accuracy of Agilex™ 7 F-series and I-series devices not meet the device datasheet specification?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

In the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.3 and earlier, when using the voltage sensor feature to monitor internal and external voltages, the measured voltage of the low voltage channels may not meet the voltage sensor accuracy specification provided in the Agilex™ 7 FPGAs and SoCs Device Data Sheet: F-Series and I-Series. This is due to some limitations in the handling condition in SDM firmware.

  • Datasheet specification is 3.5% (43.75mV) for low voltage channels (channel #0/1/2/6/7)
  • Datasheet specification is 4.5% (56.25mV) for low voltage channels (channel #3/4/5/9)

Resolution

This problem is fixed in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 23.4.
