How do I import a .qud file from command line in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Software?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Design Software
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

An Intel® Quartus® Prime Software User-Defined Device File (.qud) contains device information that allows the transfer of devices between installations of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Software.

To import devices defined in a .qud file, use the quartus_cpf command line tool from Intel® Quartus® Prime Software as follows.

    Import .qud file syntax:

    quartus_cpf --import_qud <file.qud>

Note that due to a limitation in the storing of user devices with same JTAGID, only the last device of the same JTAGID is stored in the database. This problem does not happen if the file is imported from the GUI. Refer to the Resolution section for further guidance.

    Resolution

If you are using the command line, remove devices with the same JTAGID or try with different JTAGIDS for the duplicated ones.

An error message to guide you to use a unique JTAGID when importing devices (using either GUI or command line) has been added since Intel® Quartus® Prime Software version 23.1.
