You may see this error in Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software when using Intel® Stratix® 10 devices and Differential SSTL IO. The error occurs when trying to place Differential SSTL IO on non DQS pins.
On Intel® Stratix® 10 devices, Differential SSTL IO can only be used on DQSx4 pins
Resolution
To avoid this error, place Differential SSTL IO on DQSx4 pins.
