Why does system console quit unexpectedly in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v21.2?

Due to a problem in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v21.2, the system console might quit unexpectedly. 

To work around this problem, follow these steps to replace the JAVA Runtime Environment (JRE) files:

1. Zip up all files in the following folder corresponding to the operating system you are using to keep a backup of the OpenJVM 1.8 that ships with the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
   • Windows: $QUARTUS_ROOTDIR/bin64/jre64
   • Linux: $QUARTUS_ROOTDIR\linux64\jre64
2. Download the JRE files here and navigate to the folders named linux64 and windows64.
3. Paste the files to the folder shown in Step 1.

This problem has been fixed in the Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software v23.2 and later versions.
