Description

You may see this error message using the Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™17.0 tools when passing the argument -fmax=300 which allows an fmax number to be used in the OpenCL compilation.

Resolution

The “=” sign after the fmax is only supported in Intel FPGA SDK for OpenCL tools 17.1 and onwards. The correct syntax to pass the fmax argument for Intel FPGA SDK for OpenCL. 17.0 and earlier with a value of 300MHz is --fmax 300
