Why does the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC) show low power estimation for EMIF blocks in the Intel Agilex® 7 device AGF027?

Environment

    Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC) version 20.4 and earlier, you may see underestimated EMIF power in the Intel Agilex® 7 device AGF027.

This is due to the PLL dynamic power not being correctly counted. This problem has no impact on Intel® Quartus® Prime Power Analyzer and the Intel Agilex® 7 014 devices.

Resolution

To work around this problem, you may manually add PLL dynamic power from the same design for Intel Agilex® 7 device AGF014.

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® FPGA Power and Thermal Calculator (PTC) version 21.1.
