Why does the fitter report errors when I recompile my previous working PCIe design in the Quartus® II software version 10.1?

Environment

Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 10.1, some PCIe designs that worked in previous versions of the Quartus II software might result in the following fitter errors in v10.1:

Error: Quartus II software cannot combine the following Calibration block(s) due to inconsistent parameters and/or input connections.

Error: Input port "TEST_CTRL" must be driven by the same source.

Resolution

A patch is available to fix this problem for the Quartus® II software version 10.1. Download and install patch 0.30:

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Quartus® II software.
