Why do I get the message "# Error loading design" when loading a design into ModelSim Altera 5.3d

BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
Description One of the possible causes of this error is that ModelSim is unable to find the design files. This problem may occur if the path to the file being loaded is incorrect, the path contains a space character, or the file does not exist.
