Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software versions 10.0 and later, clicking on the Documentation link in the MegaWizard Plug-In Manager may generate the below message and fail to launch your web browser on Windows platforms.
To work around this problem, perform the following steps:
- Create a Windows batch file on your local drive with the contents below:
"<full_path_to_your_web_browser_executable>" %1
- Replace <full_path_to_your_web_browser_executable> with the full path of your web browser executable.
- Configure your Quartus II web browser path to point to this batch file.
- Point to Options on the Tools menu.
- Select Internet Connectivity under the General category.
- Set the Web browser variable to point to your batch file.
This problem is fixed beginning with the Quartus II software version 11.0.
Message:
Failed to launch the default browser or the browser specified under the "Directories" tab of the Settings dialog box of the MegaWizard Plug-In Manager.
Please specify a valid browser exectuable path in the Settings dialog box and relaunch the current plug-in.
