Why do I get a warning “Warning(176225): Can't pack node <name> to I/O pin” even when nodes are packed into I/O pins?

Environment

  • Quartus® II Subscription Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Quartus® II software version 12.0 and later, you may see this warning when the node is packed into the IO cell if you have defined the Fast Input Register or Fast Output Register assignments using wildcards.

    Resolution

These warnings may be safely ignored. Alternatively, you can make each Fast Input Register and Fast Output Register assignment explicitly without the use of wildcards.
