Why does the Intel® Quartus® Prime installer fail on some Linux platforms?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
    • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

    Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Installer for Pro and Standard Edition, you may see the installer hangs when installing on Arch, Fedora, Ubuntu Linux platforms.

    Resolution

    To work around the problem, deselect Quartus Help, ModelSim - Intel FPGA Edition, DSP Builder, and Intel FPGA SDK for OpenCL from the Intel Quartus Prime installation. Install these software individually.

    This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future version of the Intel Quartus Prime software.
