Why do I have functional failures in my Intel® Stratix® 10 FPGA design for OpenCL™ compiles using the -fast-compile flag?

Environment

  • Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition
  • Intel® FPGA SDK for OpenCL™ Pro Edition
  • BUILT IN - ARTICLE INTRO SECOND COMPONENT
    Description

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software version 19.1, you might see functional failures for OpenCL™ compiles using the -fast-compile flag. This problem occurs on designs targeting Intel® Stratix® 10 devices. The failures happen because of hold violations in the design.

    Resolution

To work around this problem, do not use the -fast-compile aoc flag when targeting Intel® Stratix® 10 devices with the OpenCL™ flow.

This problem is scheduled to be fixed in a future release of the Intel® Quartus® Prime Pro Edition Software.
