Error: Execution of command "{<quartus_installation>/nios2eds/Nios II Command Shell.bat} make all 2>> stderr.txt" failed

Due to a problem in the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 20.1 and earlier, you may see this error when you generate a system in the platform designer that includes the Intel® Memory Interface IP for DDR4. This error may happen if you are using an OS build version of Windows* 10 which is older than 18252.

To workaround the problem, you can follow the steps below:

1. Uninstall Ubuntu* 18.04 (if you have one)
2. Uninstall wsl  
3. Re-install wsl
4. Download latest Ubuntu 18.04 from Microsoft Store & install it
5. Execute following commands on Ubuntu shell :    
   

     sudo apt-get update

     sudo apt install wsl 

     sudo apt install dos2unix

     sudo apt install make 

     sudo apt-get upgrade 

This problem is fixed starting with the Intel® Quartus® Prime Standard Edition software version 21.1.
